Political analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu discussed the local Serb protest against the opening of the Iber Bridge on T7’s FRONTAL program. Spahiu described the protest as relatively small, noting that previous protests had seen greater participation. He emphasized that there is readiness on both sides for the bridge to be opened, a move he believes would benefit the residents of North Mitrovica.
Spahiu stated, “There is willingness on both sides for the bridge to be opened. There is no reason why the opening of the Iber Bridge should not happen. It is most needed by the citizens of the northern part.”
According to Spahiu, the current atmosphere suggests that both communities are prepared to move forward with the bridge’s reopening, which would facilitate better interaction and accessibility for the local population.
