Sveçla Announces Meetings Within the Berlin Summit Framework

Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, announced that he met with the German Federal Minister of Interior and Communities, Nancy Faeser, and the UK’s Minister of State for Border Security and Asylum, Dame Angela Eagle.

He stated that during the ministerial session of the Berlin Summit, discussions focused on illegal migration and organized crime.

“I was pleased to present our Republic’s achievements in these two very challenging areas, as well as our commitment to further cooperation with our partners to jointly overcome these phenomena,” he wrote on Facebook.

His full statement:

“I had the pleasure of meeting today the Federal Minister of Interior and Communities of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ms. Nancy Faeser, and the UK’s Minister of State for Border Security and Asylum, Ms. Dame Angela Eagle.

The two separate meetings were united by Germany and the United Kingdom’s commitment to further support the growth and strengthening of our Republic.

Following these productive meetings, with colleagues and representatives from the region and beyond, representatives of the European Union, and international organizations at the ministerial session of the Berlin Summit, we discussed illegal migration and organized crime.

I was pleased to present our Republic’s achievements in these two very challenging areas, as well as our commitment to further cooperation with our partners to jointly overcome these phenomena.

I reiterated our commitment to continued engagement within the framework of the Berlin Process.”
