Former U.S. ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby has spoken of the ongoing U.S. and EU demand for cooperation with Serbia for a full investigation into the Banjska attack.
Kirby said a more serious approach is needed for Banjska, because according to him, the international community is treating her like other incidents.
“It does not seem to me that the international community is particularly involved, or not involved in this case. He seems to be treating it as another of the many open issues between Kosovo and Serbia: similar to the blocking of imports of goods from Serbia, the issue of license plates and other topics”.
“However, I believe a more serious approach is needed to the deaths of human beings – the policeman and the three attackers. But it does not seem that the international community approaches this case differently compared to other incidents,” Michael Kirby, former U.S. ambassador to Serbia, told VOA.
