Bosnian actor Fedja Shtukan, as well as singers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, Selma Bajrami and Severina, had an unpleasant experience when trying to enter Serbia.
Shtukan and Severina were detained for several hours each at border crossings when trying to enter Serbia and questioned about what they said in public or published on social networks.
But judging by the experiences broadcast on social networks, something like this happens not only to famous people, but also to ordinary citizens:
“Tonight I stopped at our church to buy homemade sausages (it’s already common in churches) and ran into a friend, we haven’t seen each other in a long time. He says he returned from Serbia last Sunday after being usually disappointed by the progressive regime and the rising levels of corruption and dictatorships. Note that one of our acquaintances from here was also in Loznica last month to visit his parents. While still at the airport, they separated him from his wife and three young children and took him to an informational interview, showing him several posts on Twitter where he criticized a local politician about lithium mining. They have imposed conditions: 100 thousand dinars fine or 48 hours of detention and criminal charges with confiscation of the passport and ban from leaving the country. The shocked man paid the fine and closed his Twitter account! Uh I said, and all because of two posts on Twitter. He said yes … I mean I have almost 10 thousand tweets to process, how much does the sentence wait for me?”user Aleksandar m Shipka posted on social network X, who lives outside Serbia.
Some users doubted his words, claiming that such a thing is impossible. However, he responded to them by saying that he saw the receipt with which his acquaintance paid the fine, adding that during that time the police kept his passport to ensure that the fine would be paid.
