The chairman of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, announced an “open and friendly” discussion with the U.S. ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier.

They met at the American Embassy.

Haradinaj said they discussed political and security developments, “with a particular focus on our efforts for direct NATO membership.”

“I assured Ambassador Hovenier that we will engage in ensuring that our political activities are focused on this common goal,” wrote the AAK chairman in a Facebook post.

Haradinaj expressed his deep gratitude to Ambassador Hovenier for “his support and that of the United States for Kosovo, standing by us every step of the way.”

“The Membership Action Plan remains our strategic objective, as the only perspective to ensure long-term peace and security for our country and our region,” wrote Haradinaj.
