Following the United States, Germany has also requested Serbia to reconsider its draft law that declares Kosovo a special protection zone and outlines jurisdiction over criminal acts.
The German ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, shared a post from the German Foreign Office, which among other things called for the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement by both parties, Kosovo and Serbia.
On platform X, the office requested Serbia to reassess its draft law regarding the declaration of Kosovo as a special protection zone and jurisdiction over criminal acts.
“We urge Serbia to reconsider. Both countries, Kosovo and Serbia, must implement the 2023 Ohrid Agreement without delay, including the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities,” their request published on platform X stated.
According to Rohde, who shared this request, such an action by Serbia constitutes a clear violation of Dialogue obligations.
“Germany calls on Serbia to reconsider its draft law that declares Kosovo a special protection zone and outlines jurisdiction over criminal acts, as this would represent a clear violation of Dialogue obligations,” the ambassador wrote.
