After his visit to the Institute for War Crimes, Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti was asked about the lawsuit for genocide against Serbia and whether materials from the Institute would aid in the preparation of this lawsuit. He was also asked about the current state of preparations by the government.
The lawsuit for genocide against Serbia is a long-standing promise by Prime Minister Kurti.
He stated that the preparations are being conducted in confidentiality due to the involvement of a hostile and aggressive state like Serbia.
“This is the Institute for War Crimes during the Kosovo War, and its aim is research, documentation, and providing the truth in its proper form for the sake of history and justice. However, it is the responsibility of other authorities to later work and act on the basis of the materials archived here.”
“We are continuing our work, our preparations, which are deep and complex, and for which, in terms of their specific content, I cannot speak, because these preparations are being conducted confidentially. Naturally, we are dealing with an aggressive state, a hostile state towards us, which does not accept the crimes committed in Kosovo and, on the contrary, calls them fabrications.”
“Considering the regional context, with our hostile neighbor, these preparations must be carried out out of the public eye,” said Prime Minister Kurti to the press.
