In an important meeting held at the Assembly of Kosovo, a delegation of lawmakers from the United Kingdom was welcomed by Enver Hoxhaj, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, and representatives of opposition parties. The meeting served as a platform for discussing key issues related to Kosovo’s strategic priorities on the international stage.

Hoxhaj emphasized the significance of Kosovo’s NATO membership, considering this process to be as important as Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008. He particularly stressed the role the United Kingdom should play in supporting Kosovo’s state-building efforts and advancing its membership in international organizations such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe.

“In a world of tectonic geopolitical shifts, with threats from Serbia and Russia in the Balkans, Kosovo’s membership in NATO is of equal importance to Kosovo’s independence in 2008,” Hoxhaj stated, according to a press release.

The British MPs reaffirmed their support for Kosovo and the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, emphasizing that stability in the Balkans remains a high priority for British foreign policy.

This meeting comes at a crucial time for Kosovo as it seeks to strengthen its international position and integrate into Euro-Atlantic structures.

“I had the pleasure today to welcome a delegation of lawmakers from the United Kingdom who visited the Assembly of Kosovo. In a world of tectonic geopolitical shifts, with the threats from Serbia and Russia in the Balkans, Kosovo’s NATO membership is of equal importance to Kosovo’s independence in 2008. The United Kingdom’s top priority in relation to Kosovo and the Balkans should be the completion of Kosovo’s state-building process, supporting Kosovo’s membership in every international organization, from the UN to the Council of Europe, and fostering a closer partnership with the United Kingdom. These were the topics discussed with the British parliamentary delegation,” Hoxhaj wrote on Facebook.
