Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, during the meeting between the two governments, that of Kosovo and North Macedonia, stated that from January 1st, 2025, the movement of citizens between the two countries will be further eased.

Prime Minister Kurti said that starting from the next year, at the two border points, Blace-Han i Elezit and Jazhnicë-Glloboqic, the “entry-entry” model will be implemented, where officials will work in a shared building, which, according to him, will shorten the long waiting times at the border.

“On January 1, 2024, 5 million border crossings were recorded in both directions. Starting from January 1, 2025, at the Blace and Han i Elezit and Jazhnicë-Glloboqic border points, the entry-entry model will be applied, where our officials will work together in one building. This will ease the movement of our citizens. We welcome the completion of the highway from Blace to Skopje, which will connect the highway network with the Arbën Xhaferi highway,” said Kurti during the meeting between the two governments held in Pristina.

“Since our first meeting in 2021, we have made progress, but it is time to do even more. As neighbors who share a border, our security is interconnected. Cooperation in security matters is important, as organized crime by malicious actors poses threats to us, and these challenges can be addressed together,” Kurti added.
