Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, participated in the Switzerland-Kosovo Economic Forum 2024, where he delivered an opening speech. Highlighting the strong cultural and political partnership between Kosovo and Switzerland, Kurti emphasized the natural progression of strengthening their economic ties.
He expressed gratitude towards everyone working to solidify this partnership, particularly in trade, investments, and technological innovation. Kurti noted that Switzerland is Kosovo’s fifth-largest export destination, with Kosovo achieving a positive trade balance for the first time in 2022, exporting goods worth 64 million euros and importing 39 million euros.
Kurti called on Swiss investors to explore increasing opportunities in Kosovo, from renewable energy and advanced manufacturing to technology and education. He highlighted Kosovo’s efforts to reduce barriers, improve infrastructure, and support global trends like green economies and digital transformation. The country has also launched the E-Kosova platform, which now offers over 200 online services to citizens and businesses.
In closing, the Prime Minister reiterated Kosovo’s commitment to creating a business environment that attracts investments and fosters sustainable growth, urging stronger and more prosperous cooperation between Kosovo and Switzerland.
