Kosovo Police are currently conducting raids in the village of Varagë in connection with the recent terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenci water canal, a critical infrastructure for water supply and energy production in Kosovo.

The operation has been confirmed by Veton Elshani, Deputy Director of the Police for the North Region. Elshani stated, “Yes, a police raid is underway. At this moment, I cannot provide further details,” according to local media.

In addition to the raids in Varagë, reports suggest that the police are also operating in the nearby village of Uglarë. Local media outlet Zubin Potok Info reported that the police mistakenly entered a house in Uglarë while searching for a suspect, only to find that the individual in question no longer resided there. The police then redirected their efforts to another location.

Further reports indicate that two individuals have been arrested during the operation.

The police actions come after the explosion that damaged the Ibër-Lepenci water canal, which authorities have described as a terrorist act. Investigations are ongoing as security forces work to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
