Burim Ramadani, a security expert, provided professional details on “Pressing” on T7 regarding how the attack on Ibër-Lepenc occurred last Friday.
Initially, Ramadani stated that the attack was carried out by professionals, who were also well-informed.
He added that the attackers potentially had information from people who work or have worked at Ibër-Lepenc, Ujman, or security institutions.
“The attack, based on current assessments, appears to have been carried out by professionals, and these are some of the reasons. It seems that the perpetrators, the terrorists, had detailed information about the canal, particularly regarding the fact that the only place along this canal that did not have any form of bypass, whether improvised or engineered, was the location where the explosion took place. This suggests that the terrorists potentially had knowledge and contacts, either with people who have worked or are working at Ibër-Lepenc, Ujman, or in the security sector. We are talking about a highly targeted strike, which means they had inside information, they could be insiders or outsiders, regardless of that,” he stated.
“It is estimated that around 20 kg of TNT were used, which appeared to be wrapped in plastic, a material potentially used by military professionals, because of the location and the water. The water and such an explosion in a canal with high water intensity can only be performed by highly skilled professionals.”
“The transport of the explosives is estimated to have been carried out several kilometers along mountain roads to avoid cameras. The explosion in the water clearly eliminates traces for investigations. The immediate action required with excavators to remove traces, and the weather conditions, the time at 19:00, along with heavy rain and snow, helped the group. The state, despite what comes out, was placed in an extremely difficult situation, and of course, investigations may or may not reveal what happened, but it’s not easy to say,” Ramadani added.
