Russia carried out bombings on the night of Friday, targeting the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. According to information from the attacks, the building housing the Albanian Embassy in Kyiv was also hit, reports Top Channel.
“Six embassies were damaged as a result of Russian missile strikes in Kyiv,” said the spokesperson of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Tykhy.
The embassies of Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Montenegro, which are located in the same building, were also affected by the attack.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania has confirmed the news and condemned the Russian strikes, calling them brutal.
“A series of Russian airstrikes shook Kyiv on Friday morning, causing extensive damage in several areas of the Ukrainian capital. As a result of these attacks, the external façade and several interior spaces of the Albanian Embassy building in Kyiv, as well as the embassies of five other countries, were partially damaged, putting the lives of diplomatic personnel at risk. Only material damage has been reported.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs unequivocally condemns these brutal attacks. This senseless act is an assault on the very foundations of international diplomacy. The protection of diplomatic personnel and the inviolability of missions are non-negotiable principles that must be fully respected and implemented,” said the Ministry’s statement.
