Edward Joseph, a professor of international relations and a Balkans expert, stated that Kosovo must protect its sovereignty while easing tensions in the north of the country.

“We don’t know what Donald Trump will do. We need to focus on what Kosovo can do, and what Kosovo can do is protect its sovereignty by reducing tensions in the country, by stopping this confrontational stance in the north,” Joseph said during an interview with Kanal 10.

Joseph shared details of a five-point plan he would offer if he were the new prime minister following elections in Kosovo.

“If I were the new prime minister after the elections, the first day I would offer a five-point plan for a constructive and positive approach to the development of the north. And this plan would include components related to security, education, health, and all of these aspects,” Joseph explained.

Among the first points, Joseph emphasized the reintegration of Serbs into the Kosovo Police.

“I would have a very clear plan for this, and to give you a concrete example, an example in security. I would invite all Serbs from Kosovo who left the police to reapply,” he said.

Joseph highlighted the importance of integrating Serbs as citizens of Kosovo.

“This is in the interest of Albanians. Remember what I said: the more Serbs in Kosovo are integrated as citizens, the less influence Serbia will have,” Joseph concluded.
