Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, in an interview on the Serbian television channel “TV Happy,” discussed the departure of Russian forces from Kosovo, which had been stationed there after NATO’s intervention.
Vucic stated that he still doesn’t understand why the Russian troops left and why no one has ever explained it to him.
“I still don’t understand why the Russians left Kosovo, and no one has ever explained it to me,” said President Vucic, as reported by Euronews.
According to an official NATO statement, the Russian forces withdrew from Kosovo in 2003. Initially, they had been stationed at the Pristina Airport.
Vucic’s nostalgia for Russian presence reveals a clear agenda: to maintain strong Russian backing in the region, strengthening Serbia’s stance against the West and prolonging tensions in the region.
