Kosovo’s Defense Minister, Ejup Maqedonci, is on an official visit to the United States, accompanied by the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Bashkim Jashari.
Maqedonci has announced plans to hold high-level meetings at the Department of Defense, State Department, Senate, and other institutions, as reported by the online newspaper Reporteri.net.
He stated that his visit began with a meeting at the Atlantic Council, where he was hosted by Senior Director Jörn Fleck. During the meeting, discussions focused on global security issues, terrorist attacks in northern Kosovo, the security situation in the country, and the Russia-Serbia collaboration aimed at destabilizing the region.
Commitment to NATO and U.S. Cooperation
“I started my visit to the U.S. with a meeting at the Atlantic Council, where I was welcomed by Jörn Fleck, Senior Director at this prestigious think tank, and his team. In the meeting, we discussed global security issues, terrorist attacks in the north, the security situation in Kosovo, and the influence and cooperation between Russia and Serbia in destabilizing the region. I reaffirmed our institutional commitment to NATO and EU integration and further deepening the cooperation between Kosovo and the U.S. in defense and security,” Maqedonci stated.
Yesterday, Maqedonci emphasized that these meetings are part of efforts to strengthen relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the U.S. in defense and security.
