On Monday, January 20, the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, will take the oath of office at Capitol Hill.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held indoors at the Capitol, as requested by Trump, due to anticipated temperatures dropping to -6°C. According to images obtained by LSA, preparations for this major event are underway at Capitol Hill. For every inauguration, there are always contingency plans to move the ceremony indoors in case of inclement weather.

The last time a president took the oath inside the Capitol was in 1985, when President Ronald Reagan began his second term.

Alternative plans are also being considered to manage the more than 200,000 people expected to attend the inauguration, as well as the tens of thousands of citizens anticipated to line the streets to witness the ceremony and parade.
