The Central Election Commission has announced that the printing of ballots for the elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on February 9, 2025, has begun.

The spokesman of the CEC, Valmir Elezi, has announced that the printing of ballots is being carried out at the high-security document printing house, “Cetis”, in Celje, Slovenia.

This process is taking place according to international standards and under the supervision of a CEC delegation led by the chairperson, Kreshnik Radoniqi and the CEC Secretariat staff.

In addition to the ballots, brochures with candidate lists are also being printed, which will be available to voters at polling stations on Election Day.

At the meeting held on January 15, the CEC made a decision on the number of ballots and brochures to be printed.

According to the decision of the CEC, 1,752,650 ballots will be printed, of which 1,664,100 for voting at regular polling stations; 28,450 for conditional voting; 38,650 for voting for persons with special needs and as backup ballots; and 21,450 for voting at diplomatic missions.

Based on the voter list certified by the Central Election Commission the number of Kosovo citizens with the right to vote is 2,075,868 voters, of which 1,970,944 voters are voters belonging to the voter list within Kosovo and 104,924 voters are part of the voter list outside Kosovo.

Therefore, according to the CEC decision, 323,218 ballots will be printed or 15.57% less than the number of voters. This is a practice followed by the CEC also in past election processes.
