The Prosecutor’s Office in Gjakova has opened an investigation into the tragic deaths of three children in Jabllanicë, following the collapse of a building.


The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Gjakova has opened a case for “causing general danger” following the tragic deaths of three children on Saturday after a building collapsed in Jabllanicë, Gjakova.

The Prosecutor’s Office announced that it is taking “all necessary actions” to clarify this tragic event, which was reported to them by the Kosovo Police at midnight.

“The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Gjakova, regarding the tragic event that occurred in the village of Jabllanicë, Gjakova Municipality, informs the public that at midnight yesterday, the Kosovo Police informed us that an uninhabited building collapsed, resulting in the deaths of three minor individuals who unfortunately were inside at the time of the collapse,” the Prosecutor’s statement reads.

The scene of the incident was attended by the Chief Prosecutor, the on-duty prosecutor, all relevant units of the Kosovo Police, as well as the medical team that confirmed the deaths.
