The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, expressed gratitude for the support of the United States towards Kosovo, emphasizing that Kosovo is “the most pro-American nation in the world.” In a speech at the Parliamentary Forum on Security in Washington D.C., Osmani highlighted the importance of maintaining peace in the Western Balkans and Kosovo’s commitment to defending American values.

President Osmani stated that Kosovo has managed to preserve peace and stability in the Balkans thanks to American leadership.

Osmani referred to Kosovo as one of the most pro-American countries in the world, noting that in recent years, there has been a 98% approval for American policies among the Kosovo population. “We are a country with a 98% approval rating for American leadership,” she said.

“Kosovo has made America proud by defending these same values, standing shoulder to shoulder with your soldiers around the world. Together, we ensure that we defend peace across the globe,” Osmani emphasized.

This support, according to the president, has been invaluable, especially during the most difficult periods, and Kosovo has always stood by the United States in efforts to protect the values of freedom and peace.

Osmani also highlighted that Kosovo has rejected the negative influences of countries like China and Russia, staying on course for a European and democratic future.

“We are the only one who has entirely rejected China’s negative economic influence… and we have not allowed any Iranian ideology to have any impact on our country.”

Among other things, the president expressed concern over Kosovo’s worry about the growing influence of Serbia from Russia and China.

“Serbia has built full military, economic, and political ties with China. Meanwhile, Kosovo has done the opposite, being the only country in the region that has not joined the Chinese initiative.”

Osmani made it clear that Kosovo will continue to stand firm in supporting its partnership with the USA and seek American investments in critical infrastructure, as a way to further strengthen stability and counter the negative influences of other global actors.

“The people have high hopes that we will have more American investments in our region. This means continued support for the peace forces already engaged for peace and stability,” the president said.

She also mentioned the need for close cooperation with the United States to maintain peace in the Balkans and Europe, stressing that such stability is essential for Kosovo’s European future and for a safer world.

“Coordination with the United States is key. It is not only necessary for us as a country, but it is existential,” said Osmani.
