The head of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, recently spoke about the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as the security of all communities in Kosovo, reports Sinjali.
Barbano discussed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, stating that progress in the normalization between the two countries should only be achieved through dialogue with the EU.
He emphasized that the EU is the only credible and sustainable framework for advancing normalization.
“The EU-mediated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia remains the only credible and sustainable framework for advancing normalization. The assessment of its implementation falls under the competence of the EU Special Representative for the Pristina–Belgrade Dialogue,” he told the Le Canton27.ch media.
Additionally, the head of EULEX stated that the current security situation in northern Kosovo is stable and peaceful but remains fragile.
“In accordance with our role, we remain vigilant and closely monitor the security situation in Kosovo,” Barbano said.
