The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte after their meeting at the Presidency, as reported by Gazeta Sinjali.
She thanked the NATO Secretary General for his contributions, emphasizing NATO’s assistance during the war in Kosovo.
“Just over 25 years ago, most of us who are here today and all those you will meet were young and children, and we were waiting for NATO soldiers as saviors, bringing light to a tragedy that was happening to Kosovo.
Together with you, in these 25 years, we have turned Kosovo into a success story. Today, Kosovo is contributing and is ready to contribute across the globe.
NATO is also built on the values of our state. It is important that there are no security vacuums, as these vacuums are exploited by malicious actors.
With this goal, we wish to deepen cooperation with our allies by transforming our military into a modern army. To achieve this, we need to have more active cooperation. Kosovo will soon begin the production of weapons and ammunition,” emphasized Osmani.
