Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he hopes the pressure from the United States will force Russia to end the war.
Zelensky said that the world has still not heard any meaningful response from Russia regarding the temporary ceasefire proposal, and according to him, this shows that Russia wants to prolong the war and delay peace.
“We hope that the U.S. pressure will be enough to force Russia to end the war,” he said, as reported by CNN.
Zelensky added that his team is “prepared to continue working constructively with all partners in America, Europe, and other parts of the world who are committed to bringing peace closer.”
