Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited former U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine and witness firsthand the devastation caused by Russia’s invasion.
“Please, before making any decisions or entering any negotiations, come and see the people — civilians, fighters, hospitals, churches, destroyed or dead children,” Zelensky urged, according to Sky News.
“You will understand who you are dealing with,” he added.
A Plea for Understanding
Zelensky emphasized that only by seeing the destruction in person would Trump fully grasp “what Putin has done.”
Earlier this year, during his visit to the White House in February, Zelensky also extended a similar invitation to U.S. Senator JD Vance.
So far, Trump has not responded to the offer to visit Ukraine.
