German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, has voiced strong concern over the ongoing institutional deadlock in Kosovo’s Assembly, urging urgent cooperation to break the political impasse and swiftly form a stable government.

Reacting to the failure of the Assembly to vote on the Mandate Verification Commission’s report, Rohde blamed “obstructive tactics” for blocking parliamentary functionality more than two months after national elections.

“Over 2 months after the elections, 🇽🇰’s Assembly remains stalled due to obstructive tactics. Citizens deserve politicians who prioritize 🇽🇰 over party politics,” Rohde posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The ambassador emphasized that Kosovo’s citizens expect leaders to act in the national interest, not for party gain. He reiterated the need for genuine political cooperation:

“Therefore I repeat: Genuine cooperation is urgently needed to ensure functioning institutions and the swift formation of a stable government!”

This statement adds to growing international pressure on Kosovo’s political class, as the country faces a governance vacuum amid internal disagreements and procedural delays.

Ambassador Rohde’s appeal comes at a critical moment, as frustration mounts both domestically and among Kosovo’s international partners.
