Bashkimi has kept its championship hopes alive in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague after a thrilling 85–77 victory over Trepça on Sunday night in Prizren, during Game 5 of the playoff finals series. The intense matchup took place in a fiery atmosphere at the “Sezai Surroi” sports hall.
With this win, Bashkimi narrows Trepça’s series lead to 3–2, reentering the title race with renewed energy.
The game was tightly contested in the first half. Trepça dominated the first quarter, closing it with a 23–13 lead. However, Bashkimi bounced back strongly in the second quarter, winning it 29–19 to level the score at halftime, 42–42.
In the second half, Bashkimi showed greater determination and freshness, managing the game more effectively and ultimately securing the crucial win.
Despite Trepça ending the third quarter with a one-point advantage, the home side turned things around in the final stretch to seal an 85–77 victory.
The next match is scheduled for Wednesday evening at the “Minatori” sports hall in Mitrovica. Trepça needs just one more win to be crowned champions, while Bashkimi must win two straight games. If the series ties at 3–3, a decisive Game 7 will take place next Sunday in Prizren.
