The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has announced that it will not participate in today’s voting in the continuation of the Assembly’s constitutive session if the approach of the Vetëvendosje movement remains unchanged.
Deputy Rashit Qalaj stated to journalists that while they support every initiative to unblock the situation, they will not act against the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Kosovo Assembly.
“We will not participate in voting because of an unconstitutional act and violation of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure. The government’s approach to imposing a secret vote contradicts our positions as deputies, and that is why we do not participate. We participate in every initiative, such as meetings with the President, meetings called by the leader of Vetëvendosje, and any initiative that aims to unblock the situation, but not by violating rules. If Vetëvendosje’s approach remains the same, we absolutely will not participate in the vote,” he said.
Meanwhile, another deputy from the party, Përparim Gruda, said that there has been no change in their position.
