Russia has issued a stern warning to the United States, cautioning against direct military assistance to Israel in its ongoing aerial conflict with Iran. The six-day air war between the two Middle Eastern nations has led to a critical situation in the region.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated on Wednesday that direct U.S. military assistance to Israel could “radically destabilize the entire situation” in the Middle East, Reuters reports.

In separate comments, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, was quoted as saying that the situation between Iran and Israel is currently critical.

Ryabkov specifically warned the United States against providing direct military aid to Israel or considering “speculative options,” according to the Russian news agency Interfax.

“This would be a step that would radically destabilize the entire situation,” he was quoted as saying.

This comes after an informed source familiar with internal U.S. discussions revealed that President Donald Trump and his team are reportedly considering a range of options, including joint aerial bombardments with Israel against Iran’s atomic targets.
