Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine’s integration with NATO member states is currently progressing at a working level, emphasizing the need for further political action to support the process.

Speaking before heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine, Zelensky urged Ukrainian diplomats to take “every possible step at the political level” to advance the integration efforts.

“NATO remains the strongest and potentially most effective security architecture in Europe, and perhaps in the world. We are fully aware of this. Our integration with NATO continues at the working level, but we must also take every possible political step,” Zelensky said.

He added that NATO represents the most cost-effective and efficient guarantee of peace in Europe, noting that countries where NATO acts decisively experience extended periods of peace, while regions with slower NATO engagement often face instability.

Ukrainian media recalled that in April, former U.S. President Donald Trump told Time magazine that he did not believe Ukraine would ever join the North Atlantic Alliance.
