The Basic Court in Prishtina is set to hold a hearing for Lj.M., who is suspected of attacking members of KFOR and the Kosovo Police during violent clashes in Zvecan in May 2023.

The suspect has already been brought to the courtroom, where the session will determine whether a security measure, including possible pre-trial detention, will be imposed, Betimi për Drejtësi reported.

On August 25, the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) filed a request for 30 days of pre-trial detention against Lj.M.

According to the prosecution, the suspect is charged with:

  • Conspiracy for unconstitutional activities
  • Endangering persons under international protection
  • Participation in a mob committing criminal offenses and hooliganism
  • Assault on an official person

The SPRK alleges that on May 29, 2023, in front of the Zvecan municipal building, Lj.M., together with other suspects, attacked KFOR soldiers, Kosovo Police officers, and journalists with stones, Molotov cocktails, and firearms.

During the investigation and a search of the suspect’s residence, authorities reportedly seized material evidence, including a mobile phone, various military uniforms, two USB drives, and a T-shirt with nationalist slogans.

Lj.M. has been in detention since August 24, 2025.
