Pristina, August 26, 2025 – Following the election of Dimal Basha (LVV) as the new Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, political parties and minority representatives have put forward their candidates for the positions of Deputy Speakers.
- Vetëvendosje (LVV) nominated Albulena Haxhiu.
- Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) nominated Vlora Çitaku.
- Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) nominated Kujtim Shala – the proposal was backed by 101 votes in favor and 9 against.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Serb community presented two competing proposals:
- Igor Simić (Srpska lista) nominated Slavko Simić.
- Nenad Rašić (Samostalna liberalna stranka – SLS) nominated himself for the position.
These nominations reflect both the cross-party distribution of key Assembly posts and the internal competition within the Serbian political representatives in Kosovo.
