Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today through a social media post that Albania will open four additional chapters in the framework of its accession negotiations with the European Union.
According to Rama, these four chapters are added to the 24 others opened in the past 11 months, describing the process as a “record pace.”
“With today’s impatience to open four more chapters in the EU membership negotiations, which are added to the 24 chapters opened in just 11 months – a record pace – I wish you all a good day,” Rama wrote in his post.
This marks another step forward in Albania’s path toward European integration, as official accession negotiations began in July 2022.
The negotiation process includes 33 chapters divided by sectors, which must be opened, negotiated, and closed in order to meet EU membership criteria.
