James Rubin was questioned about a New York Times article dated June 25, 1999, which claimed that senior KLA commanders had carried out killings within their ranks.
According to the article cited by the prosecutor, Hashim Thaçi allegedly led a campaign to kill several commanders. The killings were reportedly reported by KLA members to U.S. diplomats, who allegedly claimed to have witnessed Thaçi’s rivals being killed.
Rubin stated that he does not recall the article but expressed doubts about its author, Chris Hedges.
“The author of this article repeatedly wrote statements that were false,” he said.
