The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Tuesday that the online application period for the accreditation of observers and media representatives for monitoring the local elections for mayors and municipal assemblies, scheduled for October 12, 2025, is still ongoing.
According to the CEC’s announcement, accreditation requests must be submitted online within the specified deadlines:
- By September 17, 2025: Deadline for submitting accreditation requests for observers of political entities certified to participate in the local elections.
- By September 27, 2025: Deadline for submitting accreditation requests for observers from local NGOs, governmental and intergovernmental organizations, international organizations, and representatives of foreign states.
- By October 7, 2025: Deadline for submitting accreditation requests for domestic and international media representatives.
The CEC stated that it is in the final stage of preparations for the October 12 local elections, with the main objective of ensuring the timely and smooth transmission of preliminary results, after the challenges that accompanied the previous electoral process in February of this year.
