Granit Xhaka was among the key players behind Sunderland’s point on Sunday afternoon.
Sunderland drew 1-1 at home against Aston Villa in the fifth round of the Premier League. The hosts were reduced to ten men from the 33rd minute after Reinildo Mandava was shown a straight red card.
The visitors took the lead in the 67th minute through Matty Cash.
Switzerland’s captain, Xhaka, delivered a fine header assist in the 75th minute for Wilson Isidor’s goal, which leveled the score.
The 32-year-old Xhaka completed the full match. For the Albanian midfielder, this was his second assist of the season.
Sunderland now sit mid-table with eight points, while Aston Villa are 18th with five points fewer.
