Portugal officially recognized the State of Palestine on Sunday, announced the country’s Foreign Minister, Paulo Rangel, in New York.
Rangel stated that a two-state solution is “the only path toward a just and lasting peace,” according to local media reports. He added that the government reaffirms “Israel’s right to exist” and its “legitimate security needs,” while also “once again condemning the horrific terrorist attacks of October 7” carried out by Hamas.
