Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that he has only partially followed the trial in The Hague, emphasizing that the Defense has chosen a specific orientation and that his role in this matter is limited.
“I followed it partially, as much as I could, due to numerous commitments and activities. The Defense has chosen a particular orientation; our role is limited. We have provided uninterrupted financial support and we hope for the best. However, on the other hand, my stance on the Special Court has remained the same from the beginning,” Kurti told T7.
Asked about the fact that Adem Demaçi is being mentioned as a key figure, given that he had been closely associated with him, Kurti said he would await the progress of the process without offering political evaluations.
“Thank you. I believe we must wait for the course of this process without giving political assessments. Once again, I emphasize that my position on the Special Court has never changed.”
Kurti did not answer when asked whether he believes the former KLA leaders will be declared innocent.
“Thank you very much,” he said without further comment.
