Vesna Pantović, candidate for mayor of Leposaviq from Nenad Rašić’s party, has urged citizens not to support Srpska Lista, arguing that the party acts against the interests of the Serb community in Kosovo.

Speaking during a televised debate on Kosovo’s public broadcaster, Pantović said she had been the subject of publicly organized attacks, accusing structures tied to Belgrade of orchestrating campaigns against her.

“Unfortunately, I have been smeared by an organization which isn’t even a real organization – it was installed by Belgrade for money laundering purposes,” Pantović declared.

“Prishtina Is Not to Blame”

According to Pantović, the current crisis is not Prishtina’s fault, but rather a result of deep problems inside Serbia. She emphasized the need for political change and called on Serbs in Kosovo to recognize where responsibility lies.

“It’s time we take our fate into our own hands. It’s time we stop being manipulated as if we don’t have even two grams of sense. Prishtina has not brought us into this situation. Prishtina is not in Belgrade, where massive protests are taking place. Prishtina is not our students, nor Novak Đoković, nor the entire academy rising in Serbia. Prishtina is not burning – Serbia is burning, and change is needed there,” Pantović said.

Support for Serbian Students

Pantović concluded by stressing the importance of supporting students in Serbia, who she believes represent the country’s hope for democratic transformation.
