Dozens of citizens gathered today in Prishtina to demand the release of former policeman Arbor Spahiu, who has been held in detention in Serbia for several months.
Protesters carried banners reading “Arbnori is not alone”, “Justice for Arbnor”, and “Freedom is a right, not a privilege”.
Organizers stressed that Spahiu is being unjustly imprisoned in Serbia, calling on both domestic and international institutions to respond.
“Injustice cannot be silenced. We are here to raise Arbnor’s voice and to firmly state that his freedom is a fundamental right. No one should be held hostage by injustice,” said one of the organizers.
Spahiu was arrested in June 2025 by Serbian authorities at the border crossing between Hungary and Serbia. He is accused of “aggravated murder” related to the September 2023 events in the village of Banjska, Zveçan.
The family of Spahiu continues to insist on his innocence and demands stronger engagement from Kosovo’s institutions as well as international organizations.
