The EU Office in Kosovo has called for a fair and transparent process in the selection of a new member of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK), highlighting the importance of integrity and professionalism in strengthening the justice system.

In a statement to the media, the EU Office emphasized that the recruitment process must attract “strong candidates whose integrity and professionalism will reinforce Kosovo’s prosecutorial system for the benefit of the public.”

The EU also confirmed that it will closely monitor the selection process, noting that it plays a crucial role in Kosovo’s rule of law reforms.

“Considering the importance of the ongoing reform of the Council, as outlined in the recent amendments to the Law on the KPK, the EU will carefully follow the process. Transparent and merit-based procedures are essential for Kosovo’s continued progress on its path toward EU integration,” the statement concluded.
