Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his meetings in Washington D.C., USA.

Together with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, and Kosovo’s Ambassador to the U.S., Ilir Dugolli, Kurti met with Democratic Senator from New Hampshire, Jeanne Shaheen.

The discussion focused on bilateral relations, recent developments in Kosovo, economic progress, defense investments, security improvements, and the rule of law.

Kurti highlighted cooperation with the United States in defense, the government’s decision to remove customs tariffs on all U.S.-origin products, and the continuation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact program for Kosovo under the new U.S. administration as key developments of mutual interest in Kosovo-U.S. relations.

They also discussed the opportunities Kosovo offers to American companies and investors.

Senator Shaheen had previously visited Kosovo following the September 24, 2023, terrorist and paramilitary attack in Banjskë, Zveçan, and has consistently called for the arrest of Millan Radoiçiq, who, as the acting Prime Minister noted, remains at large in Serbia even two years after the attack and after admitting guilt.
