Renowned football manager Rafa Benítez is set to return to coaching after a one-year break following his departure from Celta Vigo.
The former Liverpool manager has reportedly reached an agreement with Greek club Panathinaikos, signing a two-year contract valued at up to €3.6 million per year. This deal makes Benítez the highest-paid coach in the history of Greek football.
Currently, Christos Kontis serves as Panathinaikos’ head coach, but he is expected to be replaced following Benítez’s arrival.
Albanian Players in Panathinaikos
The Greek club also features two Albanian players, Adriano Bregou and Elton Fikaj, who will now play under Benítez’s management.
This appointment marks a high-profile return for Benítez to club football, bringing international experience to the Greek Super League.
