The Workers’ Union of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) has announced that employees will hold a protest on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. over delays in salary payments.
According to the union’s statement, this marks the second time in three months that RTK employees have been left without pay, leading to economic insecurity and threatening the normal functioning of the public broadcaster.
“RTK is currently involved in several important projects directly related to its public mission and the broader national interest. The financial crisis now threatens the implementation of these projects and undermines RTK’s role as an independent and inclusive public media outlet,” the statement said.
The union, known as SPERTK, has called on all colleagues without exception to join the protest, emphasizing the need to defend their dignity and their fundamental right to fair compensation.
“We urge everyone to stand together in this protest to protect our right to receive our salaries on time,” the statement concluded.
