Kyiv has officially suspended peace negotiations with Moscow, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kyslytsya announced on Wednesday.
“Since the peace talks this year ended without significant progress, they have been stopped,” Kyslytsya said, as reported by the news portal Liga.net.
Russia has repeatedly expressed its willingness to continue negotiations with Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated this position in early September, emphasizing that a diplomatic resolution to the crisis in Ukraine remains a priority for Moscow. According to Lavrov, some progress was achieved during three rounds of direct negotiations earlier this year.
The decision by Kyiv signals a pause in formal diplomatic efforts, reflecting frustration with the lack of tangible results from months of dialogue.
