The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held a meeting today with the British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, to discuss recent political and security developments and the advancement of strategic cooperation between the two countries.
President Osmani expressed her deep gratitude for the United Kingdom’s continuous support for Kosovo and its people, emphasizing the enduring partnership between the two nations.
During the meeting, discussions also focused on expanding cooperation in the field of transitional justice, including British support for the Institute for Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo (IKKL) — a key institution in documenting the truth and promoting justice for war-related crimes.
President Osmani reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom, especially in areas such as security, defense, economy, trade, and human rights.
In conclusion, both sides discussed ongoing preparations for advancing President Osmani’s initiative to establish a strategic partnership agreement between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, a topic previously raised during the visit of the UK Foreign Secretary to Prishtina.
