Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), emphasized the importance of uniting opposition forces ahead of the upcoming elections, suggesting that only coordinated efforts can effectively challenge Albin Kurti and his party.
A United Opposition Could Compete for First Place
Limaj stated that a serious candidacy supported by robust infrastructure from two major camps could realistically compete for the top spot in Kosovo’s political landscape.
“I believe that a serious candidacy with strong infrastructure from two major camps can enter the race for first place,” Limaj said. “I am convinced that, with proper planning, this candidate could become the Prime Minister of Kosovo. The opposition needs to offer a real alternative, not just participate for show, or end up in third or second place as in the past.”
Formation of Strong Opposition Poles
Limaj stressed the need to create two or three strong opposition groups to maximize the opposition vote.
“I think we need to form at least two or three poles, strong groupings that maximize opposition votes,” he said during an interview with Kanal10.
His comments highlight the strategy within Kosovo’s opposition ahead of the elections, emphasizing collaboration, strategy, and presenting a credible alternative to the current government.
