Gëzim Kasapolli has officially joined the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

The announcement was confirmed by LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, who described Kasapolli as one of the most prominent figures in diplomacy, European integration, and political analysis in the country.

Abdixhiku highlighted that Kasapolli brings over two decades of experience in both local and international institutions, building a distinguished professional profile—from diplomatic service to key state-building processes and European policy development.

Kasapolli has served as Kosovo’s Ambassador to Croatia, where, according to Abdixhiku, he represented the country with dignity, strengthened bilateral relations, and promoted Kosovo’s strategic interests in one of the European Union’s key capitals.

Full statement from LDK:

Welcome, Gëzim!

Gëzim Kasapolli, one of the most recognized names in diplomacy, European integration, and political analysis in the country, officially joins the Democratic League of Kosovo today.

With over two decades of sustained experience in local and international institutions, Gëzim has built a unique professional profile, from diplomatic service to key state-building processes and European policy development.

As Kosovo’s Ambassador to Croatia, he represented the country with dignity, strengthened bilateral relations, and promoted Kosovo’s strategic interests in one of the EU’s most important capitals.

Prior to this, Gëzim held the highest positions in Kosovo’s European integration process, serving as Deputy Minister and later as Acting Minister of European Integration. He was a key figure in initiating and negotiating the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), the most significant contractual legal act between Kosovo and the European Union.

In his roles as Political Advisor in the Assembly of Kosovo and earlier in Government, Gëzim acted as an institutional link with EU member states, the European Parliament, and international diplomacy during key stages of state-building, including communication with the UN Special Envoy Kai Eide on the eve of Kosovo’s independence negotiations.

Gëzim Kasapolli joins the Democratic League of Kosovo today with exceptional experience, deep knowledge, and a sincere commitment to the state. LDK gains a new cadre that believes in our values, the country’s European vision, and strengthening institutions.

His arrival—and those who will follow—is a clear signal that unity around values, seriousness, and professionalism is the way forward for all who are dissatisfied with the current political situation and seek real change.

Our doors are open.

Welcome, Gëzim Kasapolli!
Wishing you health, strength, and dedication in this new phase of your service to the Republic.
