The US Ambassador to NATO, Julienne Smith, today highlighted that Russia is using classic methods with the aim of destabilizing the situation in the Western Balkans.
She described Moscow’s official actions in the region aimed at destabilization as “classic tactics.”
This statement also elicited a response from Jasmin Mujanovic, a political scientist and expert on Southeast Europe politics and international issues.
“The increase in public warnings by Western officials, including the US Ambassador to NATO, that Russia has plans in the Western Balkans, seeking to arm nationalist Serbian governments in Belgrade and Bosnia. Many of us have warned about this for years; it’s crucial now to speed up NATO’s path for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo,” he wrote on the ‘X’ platform.
