Nearly 800 police officers from various units took part on Friday in a five-hour training exercise organized in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina.
The Kosovo Police announced that the exercise was conducted successfully and aimed to assess institutional readiness, strengthen reactive capacities, and improve coordination between relevant units for potential crisis or emergency situations.
“During this exercise, which was handled with great seriousness by the KP, around 790 officers from different profiles were engaged, demonstrating the effective functioning of communication mechanisms and rapid-response procedures, as well as cooperation between police officers and the security personnel of the U.S. Embassy,” the statement said.
Police added that the planned activities included the use of specialized security equipment, testing of operational procedures, and simulation of various crisis-management scenarios.
The institution emphasized that the exercise was carried out without any incidents.
“The Police highly value the performance of all departments, directorates, and police units involved. We particularly thank the citizens and traffic participants who showed high civic culture and understanding regarding temporary rerouting and interruptions in the exercise area,” the Kosovo Police stated.
According to the announcement, the exercise reaffirms the strong partnership and ongoing cooperation between the Kosovo Police, the U.S. Embassy, and other institutions involved, with the aim of ensuring a safer environment for citizens, institutions, and diplomatic staff in Kosovo.
