A case of goods smuggling and illegal border crossing was discovered on the evening of 11 December 2025 in the village of Rujishtë, in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
According to the information, at around 18:30, police units stopped four vehicles with Serbian license plates on a mountain road, suspected of transporting smuggled goods without documentation proving their origin.
During the inspection, various items were found in the vehicles, including textiles, food products, and meat products. Inside the vehicles were six individuals: A.M., around 23 years old; P.S., around 24; K.R., around 18; D.V., around 26; N.V., around 28; and S.B., around 40.
The suspects, along with the vehicles, were escorted to the Police Station in North Mitrovica. Kosovo Customs has been notified and is expected to proceed with customs procedures on 12 December 2025.
By order of the State Prosecutor on duty, the case has been initiated for the criminal offenses of “Smuggling of goods” and “Illegal border crossing,” while after being interviewed, the suspects were released pending regular procedure. Investigations are ongoing.
